CSD Launches Match-Up II Reliability Study

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 8:49 AM

Staff from the Center for Shelter Dogs are at the Southampton Animal Shelter this week to begin research investigating the reliability of the Match-Up II shelter dog behavior evaluation.
Reliability, a hallmark of validation, is the consistency of measurement of a test or measure, that is, how consistent or similar are scores between raters, over time, etc.  The CSD's study examines the reliability of evaluators' observations of dogs that are assessed with the Match-Up II behavior evaluation.  Evaluators will be watching live dog evaluations, scoring behaviors, and we will then compare results.  Research will continue throughout the year, with results expected at the end of the year.
